Maria Beltrán moved with her family to Copenhagen when her husband got work in the oil and gas industry, in July 2012. Until then, she had also worked for multinational companies and recently managed the family's food business in Argentina. After investing the first years of learning Danish and taking care of the family, she decided to get back to action, and that was the start of Impronta - a small Argentinian gem in the heart of Hellerup.
At Impronta, the menu card is simple. There is Empanadas and the Pastel de Nata dessert that is in focus.
Throughout the day, Maria is doing empanadas so they are always well made. Both the dough and the filling are homemade, according to the recipe she has learned from her mother. Having traveled in Argentina will be able to recognize the original spice of authentic Argentinian cooking.
In Argentina, empanadas is a social eating. They are often served when, for example. Gather over a football match along with a cold beer.
At Impronta you can also get the Portuguese cake Pastel de Nata. It is made by building several layers of butterdej up about a thick cake cream. Immediately, it looks simple, but it takes practice to get the perfect crispness on the dough and at the same time get the filling soft and delicious. Impronta is the only place in Denmark where you can get a Pastel de Nata made from scratch.
